About the exhibition ：
This is the 8th CAJ-AIR international program. We invited four International artists, Albano Afonso, Sandra Cinto, Ding Musa and Flavio Cerqueira from São Paulo, Brazil. They have stayed and created some art pieces at CAJ Artist in Residence for a month. We are planning to have an art exhibition “Brazil Contemporary Art Now -Icharida Chode” at Saitama City Gallery Plaza North Gallery7.

About the Exhibition ：
Ryuichi Yahagi and Manuel Velazquez are visiting Japan from Mexico for the project to be held in March. Yahagi is creating a huge installation called "Carpet of Rubble" with broken pieces of wood from the earthquake disaster at the moment we mark one year from the unprecedented tragedy. The work is to interpret the Mexican religious rite, "Alfombras de Aserrin" (carpets made with sawdust) from the viewpoint of contemporary art.
Velazquez is exhibiting around hundred work inspired by nativistic culture and legends of Mexico and works created in Japan.

About the Exhibition ：
C.A.J. invites Ushio Shinohara from New York and Chu Enoki from Kobe City for the commemorable first project. These "legendary artists" will collaborate in the exhibition to be held in the gallery of the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama.
Enoki will install a sculpture of cannon on countless cartridges spread all over the floor. Shinohara surrounds the installation with his representative work,
Action Painting.
During the exhibition, a talk show with the artists and Akira Tatehata, the director of the museum, live "Boxing Painting" by Shinohara, and a performance to celebrate the founding of C.A.J artist in residence at the playground of Tokiwa elementary school by Enoki will be held.
